Coronavirus Information


In response to recent health board guidance to aid with social distancing, we have implemented the following changes:

All pre-booked appointments with GPs, pharmacists, diabetes / asthma / heart clinics which were made on or before 18/3/2020 will now take place by telephone. Please do not come to the surgery for these. The clinician will ring you as close to your booked appointment time as possible. If they determine that you need to be seen face to face they will arrange this after speaking to you first.

Likewise all queries to reception must take place by telephone. We will not issue any prescriptions from the desk – they will be sent directly to a pharmacy of your choosing.

The current situation is exceptional and we are having to adapt rapidly to new ways of working. This will naturally be challenging for our patients and our staff and we appreciate your understanding if things do not always run entirely smoothly. We are working extremely hard to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible patient care.

In view of the current situation with Corona Virus and in an effort to minimise the risk of infection to patients and staff and to cope with unprecedented demand on our service, we are making changes to the way the Practice works.  This will be reviewed daily and updated as appropriate.

What to do if you have symptoms of Coronavirus

  • a high temperature
  • a new continuous cough

You need to stay at home follow self-isolation advice available on Public Health Wales website.

  • You should only contact 111 if:
  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • your condition gets worse
  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
  • Do not come to the GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
  • You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.

Please avoid coming into the Practice premises unless absolutely necessary

There are some clinical conditions which put people at even higher risk of severe illness from Coronavirus. If you are in this category, you should rigorously follow the social distancing advice in full.

We are contacting patients who have appointments that have already been booked, to not come to the surgery and to expect a call from a clinician around the time of their original appointment.

We will not be offering pre-bookable appointments for the foreseeable future, for urgent appointments, visits requests or advice please telephone the Practice and a member of the clinical team will ring you back. Please assist by giving the receptionists clear information and confirmation of your contact details.

If you need to reorder your prescription, please do so via My Health Online if you have an account or by telephone.  All prescriptions will now be sent directly to your nominated chemist and not left for collection from the front desk.

My Health Online

My Health Online is a service provided by National Wales Health Informatics Service that allows you to access your practice online. My Health Online includes a number of optional features, including:

  • Checking, booking and cancelling appointments.
  • Checking your medication and ordering repeat medication.
  • Updating your contact information, including mobile phone number and email address.
  • Sending messages to your practice, so avoiding the need for a phone call for routine enquiries.

Your practice may not offer all these features. Ask your practice which ones are available.
